A traditional, breath-led practice — the same sequence, deepened one posture at a time, guided live over video at your own pace.
Ashtanga is practiced Mysore-style: you move through the Primary Series at your own pace, breath by breath, while receiving live guidance and corrections over video. No two students are on the same posture — everyone is on the same call.
New students begin with the opening sequence and a handful of postures, adding more only once the body and breath are ready. All you need is a mat, a bit of open floor space, and a stable internet connection.
The name comes from Mysore, India, where K. Pattabhi Jois taught Ashtanga Yoga through most of the 20th century, teaching each student the sequence one posture at a time as they were ready for it.
In a Mysore-style class, everyone practices together but individually — you're given the postures of the Primary Series gradually, memorize the sequence over time, and eventually move through it independently while the teacher observes, adjusts, and adds the next posture when your body is ready. It's the traditional way Ashtanga has always been taught, and it builds a practice that's genuinely your own rather than one you're following along to.
